Estar: where something is and how it is now
Use estar for location and temporary states: estoy en casa, está cansado.
Present tense: estoy, estás, está, estamos, están.
Location always takes estar, even for things that never move: Madrid está en España.
Feelings and conditions take estar: Estoy cansado. La sopa está fría.
Estar + -ando / -iendo makes the "-ing" form: Estoy comiendo.
Pattern: subject + estar + place / state
