Home / Learn Mandarin / HSK 1 / 也 and 都: "also" and "all"
也 and 都: "also" and "all"
也 "also" and 都 "all / both" go after the subject and before the verb: 我也去, 我们都去.
Both words are adverbs. They always sit before the verb, never at the end of the sentence.
都 points back to a plural subject: 他们都是学生 "they are all students".
When used together, the order is 也都: 我们也都喜欢.
Pattern: Subject + 也 / 都 + verb
