Prepositions with articles: del, al, nel
Di, a, da, in and su merge with il / la: di + il = del, a + la = alla, in + il = nel.
These merged forms are everywhere: il libro del professore, vado al mare, sono nella cucina.
The ending follows the article: dello, della, dei, degli, delle.
In and a usually stay bare before cities and many places: a Roma, in Italia.
Pattern: preposition + article + noun
