Haben: to have

Ich habe, du hast, er hat, wir haben, ihr habt, sie haben. Also: Hunger haben "to be hungry".

Feelings and states: Hunger haben, Durst haben, Angst haben, Zeit haben.

Haben is the helper for most past forms: Ich habe gegessen.

In speech, habe is often shortened to hab: Ich hab keine Zeit.

Pattern: Subjekt + haben + Objekt
