Articles: a, an, the

Use a before consonant sounds, an before vowel sounds, and the for something specific.

A and an mean "one": a book, an apple. The choice depends on the sound, not the letter: an hour, a university.

The is for a thing you both already know about: Close the door.

English has no gender for articles. The is the same for singular and plural.

Pattern: a / an / the + noun

冠词:a、an、the (Chinese)

辅音开头用 a,元音开头用 an,特指某个东西用 the。

中文没有冠词,所以这是常见难点。a / an 表示“一个”:a book, an apple。看发音,不看字母:an hour, a university。

the 表示说话双方都知道的那个:Close the door.(关上那扇门)

泛指一类东西时不用 the:I like music.
